Is the drivers side door switch a common problem?
I just bought a 98 F150 xlt yesterday and now the door ajar light
and the interior lights stays on.sometimes it goes out and some times it takes awhile.
does anyone have any Ideas on how to fix this?

Shoot a little WD-40 into the door latch. Others have used other fluids with similar results. I had the same problem a year ago, did the fix and haven't had a problem since. Do a search and you will find this has worked for many.

Gopher is right on the money, a touch of wd40 inside the latch, and you're as good as new.
