I have a 2000 XLT with no remote entry - I believe Ford made it standard in 2001.

yeah i thought maybe. i know i saw a windows sticker on a new xlt and keyless entry was standard.? how do you program the keyless remote for other vehicles? i almost be his is supposed to have it but the dealers didnt give it to him. the arseholes didnt even give him a full tank of gas. they only gave him one key. a new one cost $38 bucks!

To tell if you have it do this:

Turno your key to the from the on position to run 8 times, the doors should then lock and unlock. if they do then you have keyless. When you get a remote or new remote do the same thing after they lock and unlock press any button on the remote and hold it down until the doors lock and unlock again. The remote is now programmed to your truck.

My 2001 did not have it but it has a build date of 6/00. They probably made it standard on Generation 2 Screw XLTs made just after mine. That is how my luck goes. I bought one for 90 bucks with remote start plus 40 bucks for the transponder module to bypass PATs. I hope to install it soon now that the weather is finally getting nice.
