MSD Spark plug wires
About 20 months ago, I ordered a set of msd wires for my 97 4.6. Installed em myself, & went through a week of grief with engine mis-firing. Spoke with Joe Pena at MSD about this problem (poor, no contact). He said to try trimming the boots to fit inside the head. I virtually destroyed a couple of boots, trying to get them to fit. Called Joe again, & he said he tried to get a set to work in an employees car at MSD. He couldn't get em to work & told me to get an RA from Summitt & send em back. Which I did.
He also told me at that time that he would make me a set anytime I wanted using stock boots. I then discovered that Holley made a set of wires for my truck, so I ordered a set from Summitt. Installed em myself, (hands looked like hamburger meat) & they worked perfectly. Getting close to the present, I burned out the Holley wires in early October & re[laced them with Motorcraft. Afterwhich I called Joe at MSD & asked him if he remembered my trials & tribulations with his wires in early 99, and he replied "of course". He once again offerd to to make me a set using my boots & I shipped em out the next day. Last Wednesday, December 6, I called Joe to see if the wires were finished & he told me he shipped em the day before. I said, "Fantastic". He also told me that MSD now plans to start making the wires with the proper boots to fit the truck heads, & will ship me a brand new set when they are available. All of this, folks, is free of any charges. Now, how's that for good-old-fashioned customer service??????????? My hat is off to Joe Pena & all the good folks at MSD/Autotronic controls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: Told him that high up on my wish list is a plug in harness, so that the MSD DIS-4 could be installed easily. Anyone else interested?????????

They have a dis 4 system, but you have to splice the wires.
The best wires IMHO are the FMS 9mm. Fit is perfect. The MSD wires are too short because they are designed for the mustang.
just ma pinion...
