Question Engines

How do I tell if the engine I have is the windsor or the cleavland in my 91 f-150 4x4? Also what is the difference?

The Cleveland is the better of the two motors. It is usually the one used for high performance vehicles. I am not exactly sure how to tell, I think that it has something to do with the number of valve cover bolts you vehicle has. I would be willing to bet that the powerplant in your truck is a Winsor.

if it is the orginal motor and EFI it is a Windsor. A cleveland is a big block, and hasn't been avaiable for some time now.the 351 windsor is a small block closely related to the 302.

Look at the thermostat. The thermostat in the windsor attaches to the intake. In a cleveland, it goes directly into the block.
