Anyone running any of these SVO parts on a 4.6L? Ford has:

1. ALuminum Heads
   (claim to give you 55HP)
   
2. High flow intake manifold(claims 28 HP)
   
   The intake manifold is for a Stang...it would put the TB facing the opposite from stock F150...?
   
3. ...and a roots type supercharger for the 4.6L:
   

THe SC cannot be used with the heads, and is also for a Stang.

OK Performance freaks...whaddaya say?
Our V8s are suppossed to be "modular", so why cant we put, or modify theses items to soup up performance?

Hey JHL!!

Check out under the header "SUPERCREW" a topic I have created called "4.6L Supercharger".

The information I have put in there will answer your question on superchargers. Up here in Canada, dealers and performance shops are installing "POWER DYN" superchagers on the 4.6L and WOW do they work hard.

2001 Supercrew (4.6L supercharger on order)

 

The research I have done indicates the intake manifolds will swap, save the passenger side inlet, EGR etc. In my mind, it appears some fabrication would be needed. The intake and supercharger should bolt up, however.

Who makes an intake to match the heads shown above?

mod-u-lar = Designed with standardized units or dimensions for flexible use.

That is the whole premise behind these engines, obtain the highest component reuse as possible. If you don’t believe check out this link on a CV head swap using Mustang GT heads which are actually used for 5.4L
F-150’s. Go figure, build it and it will run!

All these parts will work on the trucks 4.6's. Mods will be needed for the intake an S.C. If you have a windsor 4.6 and what to use the svo heads you will need the valve covers off a romeo 4.6. Different bolt pattern.

That is what I figured, the SVO heads should be a direct bolt on, and the intake or SC would require some fabrication.

Hasn't anyone out there tried this swap? If not, does anyone know of a reliable source for information along these lines?

I am seriously considering the svo 2v heads. Mike Troyer tells me my chip can be programmed to handle them. The HP gains approach supercharger. Has anybody out there done this??? If not, I'll let you know what I decide.

I have seen 2 different HP Projections for these heads 35HP and 55HP, what does Mike Troyer, say?

Does anyone know whats different about these heads? Is it higher compression? Better flow rates? Better combustion chamber? Or a combination?

Red...I for one want to know what you do, or if anyone has done this mod yet! Maybe Mike knows of some firsthand?

I have some good friends at my local dealer. I'll give them first shot monday. I figure 35 to 55 reliable HP for under $2K isn't too bad. Will keep you folks interested posted. I'll start a thread if this happens.

redlariet - I think I've seen the svo heads for well under 2k, maybe they where they iron instead of aluminum. They would be a nice bolt on though. Hey wouldn't putting headers on new heads then putting the whole thing on at once be kinda easier?
