Post Sticking throttle fixes

Like many of you I have started experiencing the sticky throttle on my 1997 expedition 5.4. Normally my truck is in a garage that stays over 50 degrees wven when it is 15 outside but over the holidays I visited some relatives and after parking outside I had the problem too.

While talking to a friend of mine today he mentioned his FIX for the problem so I wanted to share it. I have not tried this but it did sound good and is pretty easy. He said he found it to be the butterfly on the throttle body (I may be using the wrong word) that is sticking to a slight carbon build up around the brass body. He said to be VERY careful while cleaning it or else you will scratch the brass. He uses a piece of plasitc countertop to scrape it. I suppose if you had a spray that was SAFE for all those sensors etc you could use it too.

I am going to try it on mine tonight and see if it works

Don
