Question Help-Engine performance

My '93 F-150 sometimes, out of the blue will drive like it's out of gas (boggs down). Sometimes I can switch tanks and it's fine, other times it won't matter which tank. Eventually it dies. If I wait around for 20 minutes it usually cranks right up and I can continue with my drive. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

I'd check for a dirty/clogged fuel filter first. If that's ok, may have had a hose come off the fuel pump or a bad pump???
