Angry Downtown Tampa,Alarm troubles!

I found out the hard way. If you ever go to Tampa,Fl.,you may not be able to get in your car(or truck)when you come back.
I had to open the hood and disconnect the battery(alarm screaming the whole time) I was lucky enough to have my tool box with me so I could. I was also lucky enough to find the power wire for the ignition kill under the dash,so I could drive it to an alarm friendly place!! Apparently,There are so many sources of
high frequency signals around the downtown area that your remote is rendered useless......What a pain in the A$$!! Just letting everyone else in on it ,so you won't be stuck.....(everyone here seems to enjoy the fun, they all just laugh as they walk by),,,,,98

Exclamation

Try parking at Twiggs,by the little closed street mall(Walgreens) I was parked right on the corner 1 block off the mall
Once I got out of the area,I could hook it up and it worked fine. The walgreens clerk that sold me the remote battery(my first thought) said they have ten or so people a day come in looking for batteries. They then get the pleasure of telling them about the interference. I guess it's only a small area in downtown, but it still sucks,,,98

I live in Tucson, Arizona not very far from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and the EC-130 aircraft leaving the base have so much electronic gear it makes my alarm beep when the truck is in my garage. I went back to the installer and had them turn down the sensitivity and I still get a little beep. Oh, working at the University of Arizona I sometime would get the same reaction from some of the super loud car sound systems.
