Lightning motor in MY F150
I was reading a Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords and they put a Lightning motor into an 86 Mustang. Got me thinking....
I have a 97 4x4 with the 4.6 and the auto. Is it at all difficult to transplant in the Lightning motor. I guess really it's a 5.4 with the Supercharger, but I know somebody has to have done it or know someone. What do you think it would cost to get ahold of a Lightning motor?
Anyway, just dreaming...

It's cheaper to buy a Lightning than it is to build one.
This comes up from time to time and for the most part, it's more complicated than most people would attempt after all considerations are taken.
You need a least 4 very expensive items to do this (not including your current F-150):
-Engine (With supercharger and intercooler)
-4R100 Transmission (For the added power and torque)
-9.75 Rear end (Another torque issue)
-Computer to control the engine
If you ever attempted to accelerate the way we all would with supercharged 5.4L engine with 4 wheel drive engaged, you'd also turn your transfer case into just a bunch of metal chunks on the ground below you.
