Question Need Code Scanner for A 2000 5.4 Triton

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion with a 5.4 Triton and would like to purchase a code scanner for it. Were can one be purchased and how much are they?

Summit racing. I got mine for 139.00. Don't have the part number off hand but they will know when you call. For the ODBII

If you want to save the money, try this. As long as you have a digital odometer, you can pull the error codes out through there. Simply start the engine while holding the trip meter button in. you will first get a guage sweep and then the error codes every time you press the trip meter button (one at a time). you'll have to do some hunting for the meaning of the codes, but it will save you some cash. i believe that the engine codes are designated by the letters "dtc". it's also kind of neat b/c it will give digital readouts of vehicle speed in mi/hr or km/hr, engine speed and all other guage readouts (or at least a digital equivalent to your analog guage).
