Rough start-up(cold)?

A couple of times recently after sitting 12+ hours in cold weather my truck fails to start normally, It "pops" but immediatly dies within seconds then usually starts and runs normal. This morning in 5?F after sitting 24 hrs. it took 4 attempts to remain running.
Does this seem normal/acceptable?
I'm using conventional Valvoline 5w30 and flushed the radiator just before winter.
Any ideas?
