I never heard of 1Source and I am nervous about any extended warranty that is not from the manufacturer itself. I have heard and read too many negative stories on various "Consumer Action" media outlets about these 3rd party operations over the years. My advice here is BE WARY!

If you want an actual official Ford extended warraty at a price that will usually beat what the dealer will try to gouge you with, go to www.fordwarrantycentral.com . They beat the local Ford dealer price by about 40%.

You can get the prices of various plans on their website.

For example, a 60 month/100K "Ford Extra Care" Warranty with $50 deductable is $945. The "Ford Premium Care" 60 month/100K with $50 deductable is $1100. This is a Ford warranty from Ford.

One last thought.... when I bought my Dodge Caravan a few years ago, I used an internet extended warranty price as a bargaining chip. After we agreed on a invoice-plus sale price, I told them I would do the deal today if they matched the extended warranty price I had found online. They did match it and I bought the vehicle. Perhaps you could strike the same type of deal.

Good luck,

Keith

P.S. If you are looking for a $0 deductable warranty you can usually expect to pay $100-$200 over the prices above. I paid the little extra for a $0 deductable and it is well worth it IMHO.

Checkout
http://www.warrantydirect.com/

they cover alot of parts that other warranties either leave out or consider them "wear and tear" items. The selling point for me was that the shop I deal goto deals with them direct, I do not have to put out one cent and try to get reimbursed, the give the shop a CC # and you are off.

1 Source Auto Warranty

1 Source Auto Warranty has a great website. I read some car warranty articles that helped me buy a warranty. They have links to tons of car warranty sites and I was able to shop around for the best deal. I'd use them again. Try it www.1sourceautowarranty.com
