314HP and 425ft-lbs of torque! That's close to the Lightning's numbers. Does this apply for the Lightning also? Probably not because the L has it's own performance chip compared to the stock 5.4L.

Very interesting. That site claims that Car & Driver is their sponsor, and provided a banner ad and another link to the C&D site, which I followed. I then used the C&D web site's search engine to try and find this "test" that the article said C&D had done, and came up with nothing other than an article they did on chips over a year ago that had nothing to do with this. I searched under chips, F-Mod, and every other term used to reference it in that article, along with everything else I could think of, and still came up completely empty-handed.

We are of course checking this out (like we do all these rumors), but if indeed it turns out to be true (and by the way, I agree with everyone else that's way too big a power gain from a chip on that motor of course), then we will know what they have done the instant they release the product (if not before), and like we always have, we will make more power than they do. For the entire time that automakers have been building computer-controlled vehicles, we have been making more power with our tuning than the automakers have made with theirs, from Acuras to Volkswagons and almost everything in between, we've always made more power than the automakers.

Should there be any truth to this, then we'll know what they did if & when the product materializes, and once again make more power, just like we always have.

Well Sorry to say this was all a joke, that was never supposed to go farther than 4 ppl. I know this because I made the site and hosted it. It was made by me and a friend to screw with another one of our friends. He is a die hard ford lover and we decided to try and feed him some bogus info to fool him up.
The only problem was delivering the site to him... while i was at work my friend decided to post it on this site in hopes of getting our other friend to view the site, he did and it worked... only problem was that I didn't know it had been posted in a public forum and taht you guys had waisted you time in reeding and replying to this F-MOD. Well I am sorry bout that but now at least you know ... When I got home from work i was forwarded to this message board and now I am filling out this message of apology. In conclusion ... there is no F-MOD , there Never was a F-MOD and never will be ( to the best of my knowledge) unless Ford is actually making it ... but I doubt it. I am in NO WAY affiliated with FORD or Car and Driver and the page will be coming down shortly. Sorry for the confussion and if you did want a good chip ... goto WWW.SUPERCHIPS.COM

Hehehe...damn, just when I was getting all wet down there. (Only kidding.) Well, while we're on the topic, I've been considering a chip, and I know Superchips is the only choice, but I don't know if it's for me. I have a 2001 4.6L 5 speed so that eliminates the need for shift point changes. Also, I don't really have access to 92 octane fuel, nor do I want to feed this beast such a costly fuel. So somebody be honest with me, is the Superchip for me? TIA!!!
