Question air filters

I am curious about k/n air filters vs motorcraft air filters in the most extrem dust conditions. With the motorcraft filters we have to change out every 2000 miles. these are on 99 and 2000 models.

K&N's don't do well in high dust situations. Just personal experience from cleaning the fine dust out of my non-
extreme condition intake. I'd stay with the
factory type. I know it hurts,,15 to 20 dollars every two thousand miles =-(
Have you tried blowing the dust off the outside of the filter with compressed air?
Don't go too crazy and blow a hole in the
element, but you should be able to stretch
the life a little. good luck,,,,,,98
