All I can suggest is you pull the Superchip and see if the problem persists.

Cool Electronic Problem

Hi guys, need help! Wife has as a 1997 cougar with the 4.6 engine, about 28,000 miles, Superchip and all the other goodies. Few weeks ago we began having high idle problem. Although it is Intermittent, every once in awhile when you start the car it idyll is about 200 to 300 rpm above what it should be, whether the engine is cold or already warmed up. By shuutting off the engine, waiting about 30 seconds and then restarting eliminates the problem. Since it's still under warranty, the dealer replaced the mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, and idle air controller unit. A few days after we get the car home, it all started again. I removed and cleaned the EGR valve and even ran disconnected for few days and the problem persisted. I had the car checked for codes and there are no hard or soft codes present. Disconnecting the battery terminals to delete any memory problems with the computer has not solve the problem either. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!
