Post belt noise??

Recently noticed a "swooshing" sound when engine is running. Usually upon first start up for the day. Does go away. Appears to be coming from the belt. Gets faster when driving and slower at idle. Anyone else have this problem?

Cool

Welcome jhuber34 !! There have been alot of posts of similar symptoms. You can search through some, but most seem similar. There are some who have had problems, but alot are hearing the normal operation of the fan clutch.

My Y2K truck has the steering "swoosh". My 98 truck had the steering "swoosh". It is normal for these trucks and causes no problems. I over-reacted to the problem on the 98 I had. Had the power steering pump replaced, which helped some, but did not completely resolve. The pitman arm was replaced out of my own pocket to fix it completely, but by the time I replaced the pitman arm, the noise had gone from a swooshing noise to a renounced squeal. I think a little swoosh is normal and nothing to be concerned of. Wait until right before the warranty expires and have some of that smaller stuff fixed.
