throttle cable adjustment HELP!!!!

Post throttle cable adjustment HELP!!!!

Installed my new BBK 75 MM TB this evening. I seemd to have loosened the slack in the throttle cable. I have looked at my haynes manual on how to adjust, but it isn't very clear. Is there a way to adjust this cable other than putting a spacer in at the pedal?

Thought about using a lead sinker. Any other ideas?

That lead sinker idea works. I needed to set the automatic transmission gear indicator on a Dodge Dakota I had and the dealer wanted $65 to do the job. I didn't have a lead sinker so I tore the lead end off of a 22 caliber bullet and put a notch in it to wrap around the shift indicator cable.

On my 97 F-150 I took the slack out of the throttle linkage by placing a bolt, washers and a nut over the throttle linkage just behind the pedal.

The lead will wear out soon, it's very soft. I used a brass nut with a slit cut across it. After slipping it over the cable, through the slit, it is malleable enough to be squeezed tight.

Go to your local autoparts store. They have a HELP parts section. There is a part that looks like a pipe with a hole in it and a screw on the top. THey are only about 1" at the largest. Get one of those, cut the cable at the pedal end and put this on there. Then adjust.

I used the sinkers. It took two to adjust it to the correct length. Seems to be working great. The sinkers were lead free - made from tin. Do you think they'll hold up for a while?
