Post where's the MAF?

..got a 97 4.6. I'm hearing what sounds like a light ping when I accelerate -- lasts for a few secs. I read through the posts here and it looks like my easiest attempt to fix is to clean the MAF. Where is it? I may have to buy a step ladder to get to it!!!

You can view it by opening up the air filter canister. look at the end that is attached to the hose that goes to the Throttle Body. Here you can see the MAF and the element that may need cleaning.
JUST be carefull of the wires hooked to the air intake as to not put extra stress on them.

Thx. I guess I found it afterall! I was surprised to see such tiny (2mm)sensors -- actually two and the 2nd was behind the first. Very tedious to actually clean. I wish I had a smaller swab.
Yes.. I noted that there were two sets of wires attached making it challenging to open the filter box (which makes me wonder how I'm going to replace the air filter soon). There's not much room to seperate the box. Do most disconnect the wires to allow more freedom?
