Anyone read new Truckin yet?
They did some intake work on a 5.4l Excursion. They put on the K&N FIPK and the Airaid Throttle body spacer (the one that swirled the air). It was interesting b/c I remember hearing when the airaid came out the people w/ FIPK that tried it said they had weird noises with it. Anyway heres the figures that Truckin pulled on the dyno:
before FIPK & Airaid
RPM Horse Torque
3000 152.1 266.3
3200 167.0 274.2

Yes I have seen the article you are refering to. Kinda interesting huh?
I would say that the spacer took away whatever the K&N added. They should have tested after each bolt-on and posted the results seperately.
It looks like the curve got pushed up the rpm band, not good for a truck. It also appears that the power is not delivered as smoothly as stock. Look at that HP spike at 4000 rpm.
Also, the highest torque numbers seem to be below the level of the test for the "after" numbers.
I passed on the Airaid spacer but I am looking at the Granetelli MAF.
Any thoughts?

It's all good!

I agree with Bart in that they should have tested them separately. We've seen solid 14 hp gains at the flywheel from either K&N's FIPK kit or the Airaid brand of kit on the 5.4 F-150's.
