Speedy,
I am a Ford Certified Electronics Specialist, and I have specialized in supercharging Fords; specifically, the TRITON.
I am your Magnacharger source; other kits are available through me as well.
I can objectively answer all of you supercharger questions, regardless of type. Please link to my "Trixters-Playground" e-mail address with specific questions. We can discuss the application, cost factors, and the benefits of each type of compressor.
While I try to stay out of naming brands, the (+) displacement type you mentioned is NOT *best* suited for the Triton intake manifold, is less efficient, and actually costs more. Add the intercooler, and the cost increases from there.
Here is a useful link, and it is NOT technical. It will give you an idea of what I am capable of, and what the kit consists of.

I have the Kenne Bell whipplecharger on my 97 expedition and I love the kit. The kit comes compleate with everything needed for a custom instalation. The compressor itself is very expensive, used mostly on top fuel dragsters, but does not need intercooling up to 6 psi. It is one of the most efficient compressors on the market(more than the roots) which has friction rubbing lobes that are coated with teflon to help reduce temperatures. They still require and intercooler because of the extra heat generated by the rubbing lobes. Some lightning owners are also having a problem with the teflon peeling off the rotors and going into the intercooler(not good). The magnacharger M90 kit is limited to around 6psi on the 5.4, anything higher will overspin the blower. The kenne bell 2.2l blowzilla will run upwards of 13psi which can equate to serious horsepower running race fuel if you build the engine to take the power. Both kits are excellent in my opinion...
Car specs below,- im basically looking for adding some more power, and more fun, freeway passing power would be nice. Im used to race cars, and dont tow much- if anything just motorcycles in the bed. Reliability is #1 concern.
I love Vortechs, but wouldnt run one without an aftercooler/intercooler as i like to stop the gas for prolonged periods (up the grape vine for example- i love climbing hills fast, so i think the vortech would not be a good choice). Keept blowing my mustang going up long steep hills this way with a Vortech. Paxton rulled out for the same reason, plus its not as good a street blower as the S trim anyways.
ATI Procharger is an ideal choice i figure because for about the same $$ it comes with an intercooler. But i dont know much abut the inter cooler (3 core) upgrade, or the P1SC upgrade im thinking of getting). Im just thinking of the lack of low end on this unit versus the whipple.
Whipple looks great, little more pricey. Not as much high end im sure as the procharger, and no intercooler. I think the Pro's top end may be better for me, with just a few #'s of boost at low end (as ill alwasy be on it, its less risk for all the time).
Magnacharger- not much info on it yet.
SO, if anyone has any info to help me out, please spill your guts. I only want to do this once, and want to get it right the first time. Thanks yall.

Speedy,
Listen to Crash!
I have resently installed the Magnacharger and have another one on order for a different vehicle.
I currently have 15,000 miles on the SC system and I couldn't be happier. Tech support and quality are 1st class.

Lightningcrashz- You're right! I have been promoting this kit for a year now!
I am a believer... and so are a few Mustang owners!...LOL!
I can't take a modified 'Stang, but I am happy running with the stock ones!
Many of us have other types of compressors, and are very happy. It just depends on your application and the cost factors involved.
I have done much research, and Magnuson offers a well-engineered and complete kit. It is well suited for the street and includes a new intake. The compressor actually takes the place of the old plenum.
Once the warranty expires, Flatsman and I will get the smaller pullies Magnuson offers. 8psi is the goal, but a second heat exchanger will come first.
Reliability is not an issue. The kit is designed to work within stock parameters!
6000 miles and no problems!
Drop me a line, and I can send you an MPEG of my latest dyno run. 305 ft/lbs to the GROUND without the chip!
Hey, Willie, I wish I had known you ordered another one.

Crash1, if there was a s/c kit for my truck, I would have it.Autoperformance.net is supposed to be doing the research and development on it.Have to wait and see- the emails that I have recieved from them makes it sound like it could be a long time before it hits the market.I think the 4.2 has a lot more potential than many people give it credit for.Oh ya,check my signature

I'm flattered!
Sometimes I wonder if anyone pays any attention to me...LOL!
Let me know when your kit becomes available, and we'll find you a deal! Did they mention anything about prototypes?

crash1, I just believe in giving credit where credit is due.
As for a protytype they have mentioned nothing about one yet. They really seem to be dragging their feet. They announced that they are going to produce it back in april sometime. They also said that is would be possible to have it on the market by late summer.Well fall is here and no s/c.

Sounds great!
If you will send me your e-mail address, I will forward you my MPEG.
It's short and sweet (15 seconds), but you will be able to get an idea of what your truck will sound like. I haven't figured out a way (or a website) to post it to yet, or I would have posted a link.
I also remember a DFW meet about a year ago that turned out to be alot of fun...hehehe!
This is the M112...
Nathan's Fly-by!
Well, it doesn't look like the fly-by is there anymore, but you will like the site!
Talk to ya Monday night!

Doug was good enough to offer me space on his website; in fact, my MPEG was there all the time! He had already posted it! Please hit (or link to) the main page so Doug can track the hits!
Thanks Doug!!! For the post; as well as the equipment and the time. I had a blast at Dallas Mustang with you guys!
When are you willing to get back to the dragstrip and show me where I stand against (cough, cough, uuummmmh, cough) a Lightning...LOL!?
I can possibly talk Steve#1 into taking his 'Stang, and maybe run him. F-150Freak might want to have some fun too. Cory and Sixpipes are usually game (but I already KNOW where I stand against DENNIS...). Everyone is welcome!
Some Of the competition...
SVTLIGHTNINGS.COM!
I want to get an E.T. after the blower and the chip. I will put together something and post in "Events and Happenings". "Drag night June 9th- REVISITED"! No offense or grudges intended; challenges? Maybe... Hard feelings-NO WAY!!!
BTW- Anyone have any ideas on hooking up a blown 5-speed on the line? LOL!!! I am going to need all the help I can get.
