Question Engine "tuning" after all these mods.?

Do you think the 4.6L's need any tuning after intake / exhaust mods.? If so, how is it done, with the computer? Who can do this for me, and how much? TIA

Hi Jackal,

For things like K&N air filters, airbox elimination kits & cat-back exhausts, no, nothing needs to be done in the F-150, as the MAF & O2 sensors do a fine job of compensating for the incremental increases in airflow.

If you install headers, usually a custom program is not *required*, but it is helpful and can help to add a bit more power by programming for them, so at that point you might want to consider it.

We can provide those services, for costs & details you'll want to contact us privately, our contact info is just below.

Congratulations on your new truck by the way!

Thanks Mike!!! I've been tossing the idea of a Superchip around in my head, but with the 5 speed, and the inaccessibilty of 92 octane gas-o'-rene, I haven't gone for it yet. Maybe you can persuade me to "go for it?" My truck was built on 8-16-00, (I think.) so I'm still crossing my fingers that I got the 240 H.P. 4.6L. TIA!!!
