Angry I've had about enough

I went to the dealer (Burt Ford) today for them to do an oil consumption test. The service writer told me that in order for Ford to repair/replace my engine under warranty it would have to burn "much more" than 1 quart for every 900 miles. I just added another quart this weekend....I'm now burning a quart every 1200 miles and it is slowly getting worse. I can't take it to another dealer because at the bottom of my extended warranty it says as long as I am within 40 miles of the dealership where I bought the extended warranty, I must get the repairs done there. Besides, I called other dealerships and they said they wouldn't touch it. If Ford doesn't do anything to my truck under warranty, there will never be another Ford in my garage. I bought 3 fords in the last 3 years and I won't give them any more of my money unless they fix my problem. I had to release some of my FRUSTRATION!

DFolk88-
I feel your pain..try having your truck get the engine replaced due to two faulty head gaskets and cold engine knock...now the engine that they installed, is leaking oil agian!!!! Not only that, it also has a new transmission in it as well. Plus several other things that aren't as important as having my truck run right!!!!

It gets better. I picked up my truck today after they did the oil change and on my work order it said that the oil level in my truck was at the very bottom of the dipstick....more than 2.5 qts low on oil! I am **** when it comes to maintenance and the oil level in my truck was NEVER out of the cross-hatched area. With that statement, how would the warranty company pay for the work?

Thumbs down

I really hate it when the dealership makes those kinds of claims, especially in writing. Next time they do something like that, ask them to prove it... show you it's low. I'm the same way, and they told me that mine was the same way once... not a chance... I had just done the oil change the day before and used the recommended 6 quarts... still had the empties in the back seat as a matter of fact. Their line was, "oh, well, you have the round dipstick and it takes 7 quarts to make it full with that one." Nope... went round and round with them... long story short, 6 quarts is 6 quarts, and that's what I had in there. It got me a new dipstick.

I'm Rambling... Back to the original question... I was going through a quart in 1500 in my 97 when it was new, and they even showed me on the oil consumption chart that 1 quart in 900 miles was, "normal" (As @ss@nine as that may sound. The good news is that it got better with time. It was still almost a full quart in 3000 miles, but it was better.

Red face

NEXT TIME YOU IN THE DEALER REMIND THEM THAT THERE IS A SENSOR ON THE OIL PAN THAN TELL YOU WHEN TO CHECK THE OIL(IF LOW) THE CHECK OIL LIGHT ON THE DASH WOULD HAVE BEEN SHINING BRIGHT. IF IT WASNT THEN HAVE THEN CHANGE THE SENSOR BECAUSE IT IS PROBABLY BAD. AS FOR THE DEALER. KEEP CALLING FORD CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE LINE ABOUT EVERY FEW DAYS AND KEEP TELLING THEM OF YOUR PROBLEMS. EVENTUALLY SOMEONE WILL DO SOMETHING. DOES FORD SEND YOU A QUESTIONAIR ABOUT YOU SERVICE AT THE DEALER IF SO PUT YOUR PROBLEMS IN WRITING AND SEND THEM IN. GOOD LUCK.
