NO2 PRO/CON?
I know nothing about NO2. are there any major potential problems with the engine/tranny if i install a kit?. which kit to buy and how often i can use it without damaging the truck? Also, what is the best location, in front of the air intake or at the injectors? i know i am asking a lot, but i have no previous experience on the subject.
thank you

First, loose the thought of a LS, for what it's worth, contact Powertrax and find out the release date for their no-slip locker.
Not much more and a whole lot stronger, and reliable(no clutches to wear out) and will give you a true locked rear end, that behaves like an open during cornering.
I'd suggest that since you live in CA. There are a whole lot of speed shops out that way. Both stillen, saleen are out there. I also think Keith Black is also.
Anything over a 75hp shot or so, you start putting the motor and tranny under too much stress. Some will say how great these motors are, but they've had just a limited amount of time under truck applications.
There is no replacement for displacement and as it relevant to strength.
I believe nitrous works has some applications, check w/ summit and they can give you the part #'s. you can probably get a 50-75hp kit for around 500 bucks.
Anyhow, good luck and don't create a 500lb paper weight out of your motor and tranny.
Error to the side of caution.

Have you ever seen a nitrous explosion? I'd have to say it's awe inspiring! Or for that matter a nitrous bottle go off in a car's trunk? It would make a terrorist smile!
Just some food for thought.

Good points. Low cost for the power. Good gains with one modification. Works almost as well in hot weather.
Bad Points. On or off unless you spring for a multi stage high $$ system. Bottle mounting in a truck eats space (no trunk). Often requires custom burned chip. Doesn't last as long as you would think.
I haven't played with nitrous in a modern day computer controlled vehicle. I did own a 396 Chevelle that ran nitrous. It is easy to empty the bottle! Also, it's great for the track or whatever, but not so great for daily driving. I originally had a shift mounted switch on my car. BAD IDEA!
Modern kits are rated by estimated HP increases. You can use it as often as you want. The combo you use would determine the extra wear on the motor/transmission.
