Chilton CD Rom Q
I was just on Ontool looking at the Chilton CD rom for Ford Trucks for 78-00. According to the terms, you can browse the entire CD for 7 days. After that, the last model you look at is the only one you can access and you have to contact Chilton to onlock other models. Let me guess...you have to pay extra to unlock the other vehicles? Am I right? I doubt I'll waste my $ if that's the case. Thanks in advance.
Why don't you just uninstall the cd and make sure to remove any files it had placed on your computer. Then reinstall it and you'll have another 7 new days?
Sometimes that works.
Install it when you need to do repairs and then get rid of it. Then install it before the next mechanical job.
There's nothing that limits use of the cd as far as dates/time goes on the cd-rom because you can only read from it, not write so whatever file it places goes onto your computer.
You can also find hidden files by starting your computer on the next day, then install the Chilton cd-rom first thing. After installation go to the START, SEARCH window and search for all files that were modified that day. It will of course list a bunch of windows temp files and such but all the chilton files will be listed as well so you can "weed" them out later in case install/uninstall doesn't work to get another 7 days.
Just a thought.

I don't know about the Chiltons, but I ended up getting a Ford CD on e-bay for $14. There were better ones (covered more years) for $20. The one I got covers '98 trucks. Not just F150's. Many others. If you picked up a $20 one I think you would have enough info to keep you buisy untill your truck was really old.
Just me though,
