I have a '97 Lariat package. The side emblems on the fenders say just "F-150"
There is no Triton V-8 Emblem below it.
Is it still a Triton?

 

All 4.6's that are in F series trucks are Triton V8's.Weather it says so or not. I believe they started putting the emblem on in 98' or '99.

Yes, Red is right. They did not use the fender badge in early 97. But if you will look on the air intake it will say it there. My old 97 did not have the badges either. But all 97 4.6L's and 5.4L's were the Triton engine. Not the 4.2L however.

 

Thanks, I think I'll stroll down to the dealer and replace the fender emblems with the Triton ones!

 

IF it is 97 or newer and it is a V8 and in an F-150 it is a triton. Other than that it isnt a triton. no such thing as a triton v-6

Only in the F-Series are the V8's called Tritons in the Mustang and Crown Vic there just a V8. I like the badge on side that says I have one so everyone knows its got a V8 under the hood and not no 6 banger.
