One thing I know is that fords v10 will rev higher than 4600rpm. I also like the fords v10 better. Why don't you just save up alot of money and buy a viper v10 and drop it in your truck. It will bolt right up im sure, becuase it is the same engine block. Another thing you can do is go buy a super duty ford truck with a v10 and put a super charger on it. I saw two supercharged v10 fords in a mag and they where very fast and they still did all the work that they were made to do. Im sure it would be cheaper than buying a viper enine and finding a tranny that will work with it in your dadge. I have a ? for you, do you ever have broken engine mounts? I ask because a friend with a '99 dodge ram sport with a 316 broke an enine mount when it was 2 months old and his dodge van with a 360 broke them just about every 4 months. The funny thing is that he makes fun of me because I drive a ford and his trucks is a pos(he brakes **** all the time) and mine has had not one problem(see signature below). I also plan on getting new ford truck in 2001 and it will be a Lighning! I also kicked his but in a drag race. :P
Stick with a Ford or a Chevy truck they are the best!

5200. That's what I got from both Ford and Autometer where I bought my Tach. While I've never hit that mark I've gotten to about 4800 and the the computer makes it shift. I still boggles my mind that a big engine like the Triton V10 can do that. Mine is a 1998 Club Wagon 15 Passenger van that I use for hauling all of my 8 kids and our huge camper around.

Thanks guys: That's the first time I've ever heard what the limit is on the Ford V-10. Never broke any engine mounts. As far as the Viper engine. Even though I live in a lienient state(no emissions testing), it's against the law to change the engine and put in a crate motor or do anything that messes with the emmisions performance of the vehicle. The Paxton blower on my V-10 is emissions legal in all fifty states. Yes, every since Ford came out with theire new front end I have been amazed at how many of them have sold; seemingly surpassing the number of new Rams out there. Thanks
