What is this? Low Emisions vehicle? How is it different from the standard truck? Is it an option? How much? Are their any advantages? Disadvantages? I just gotsta know.

It is not an option and is now the standard. My first 2000 F-150 (built 10/99) was not an LEV truck. My new one (build of 7/00) is an LEV truck. Not sure exactly what changes were made, but there is no loss in power at all.

If anyone can locate info on exactly what the real difference is...I would like to find out.

Interesting...and you might just be correct.

My factory sticker for my 10/99 2000 had no mention of LEV at all..but the factory sticker for my new truck has Low Emission Vehicle in large letters on it. Both were manufactured at the Norfolk plant.

I had heard in mid 99 that FORD was going to introduce LEV engines sometime in the 2000 model year.

 

All the 2000's were LEV. It just got fashionable to advertise it later on in the build. My 2000 built in 8/99 is one.
