What should I trade my Powerdyne for?

Don't give up on superchargers. I have a Paxton NOVI on my 98 5.4 and the kit made all the differnece in the world. No idle or stalling problems. The tech guys helped me install the kit. You might want to give them a call 888-9PAXTON.

Hey everybody,
Just wanted to start by saying thanks for all the advice I've gotten about my supercharger over the last two months. But I think it's time to give it back, much as I hate to admit it. I am just not getting my money's worth out of it; that is, I'm not getting anything out of it at all. I've tried everything everyone's suggested and tried some of my own and still nothing. And, I'm still dying at stoplights or when idling slowly (parking lots, etc). I would have thought an extra 70-80 HP would have jumped up and smacked me in the face. It's just not there. I'm hoping I can even get my money back from Powerdyne; I don't see how they could refuse it since I've been calling them from day one for two months.

My main question is, what would be a good (and mainly, more reliable) substitute for a supercharger. I have headers that I have not yet installed, so they're a given. I would go with a Superchip (a HP boost and better shifts), new 9mm Motorsports wires and plugs (better fire and looks cool), an FIPK (another HP/torque boost and better breathing), and 4.10 gears (lots of romp off the line). My main goal is better response and more power when I need it without a drastic decrease in fuel mileage. I'm just looking for more power, plain and simple. I don't tow or haul to any extent. Is this a good combo or am I leaving something out?

As far as the 4.10's are concerned, will a custom-programmed Superchip correct for the speedometer/odometer difference or is that gear-driven in a '97 4.6 auto? I want it kept correct. If it is gear-driven, what color/tooth-number gear do I need? I currently have 3.55's and 30" diameter tires (275/60R17). And how much should I expect to pay for a set of gears with installation, and who should I buy them from? I know that's a lot of questions, but I'm just looking for the right setup. Thanks for the suggestions.

I know how frustrating it is. I had the SEVERAL problems with the Chevy and B&M supercharger. I took over three months to figure out the problems.
You will see some/little HP increase with the chip, headers, etc.
But my honest opinion, since you have a 4x2 is go get a Lightning. Good luck on your choice
