Cool

Hey knt,
I installed a PowerAid on my 5.4 about 5000 miles ago. Right after the Superchip, custom exhaust, and AirAid. With the other mods already installed, it's kinda hard to tell if theres any major difference. It does whistle (like a vacuum leak) a little if you have an open filter. Doesn't really bother me though. Hope this helps.

Unhappy

I have been waiting for someone else to bring this up.

I installed one on my 4.6 about 10 tanks of gas ago. Before installation 15.9 avg. mpg. after installation 15.7 avg. mpg.

I installed it on a Saturday in about 20 minutes. Started to drive down my street and noticed what I thought was a vacuum leak so I went home and torqued the bolts abit. The next test drive yielded the same. After doing this two or three times and spending about 2 hours fiddling with this (including trying to contact the manufacturer) , I took it off. Instantly my whistle was gone.

Monday I called the manufacturer and he said "Oh yeah, that whistling is normal". I told him that if they could put that info into their installation instructions it would have saved me 2 hours of my Saturday!

Although it is still on my truck, I am thinking of either boring it out smooth, trading it, selling it, using it as a coaster in my office, or letting my 14 month old Jack Russell Terrier have it. Anyone interested in it LMK.

BTW the one they sent me was for the 5.4 but I was assured it was the same spacer as the 4.6. Only the pics in the instructions were differen't.

I wonder if the Airaid guys also sell Beachfront property in Kentucky?

Peace all....

Sorry about the double post. I tried to edit but ran into errors.

I just realized that Spargo2 is from Kentucky. My comment "beachfront property in Kentucky" was not maliciously aimed at him. I didn't notice where he was from until after I posted. I would have said Tenneessee :-)

Spargo2,Thanks for the reply. I have been curious for some time about these, but have never seen any "testimonials" about them and suspected that they were as you say "snakeoil". What did it cost you? and dont they come with a guarantee?
