IS THERE ANY NEWS OF FORD INCREASING HORSEPOWER FOR THE 5.4 L TO COMPETE WITH GM'S 6.0 345 HORSES AND DODGE'S NEW 5.7L 355 HORSES, WANTING TO BUY A NEW TRUCK, I KNOW THAT LINCOLN NAVIGATOR 5.4L HAS 300 HORSES BUT THATS STILL WAY LOW THANK YOU FOR ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN OFFER ME.

we pull race car trailers with our trucks and a friend of mine has got a truck with a 6L gm engine and it will pull the trailer way easier and accelerate way faster than a friend of mine that has a 5.4L i really love the ford trucks and there is a big difference, to give up that much horsepower and torque.

 

I could be wrong, but off the top of my head, I think the '03 model gets a third valve per cylinder and the hp gets upped to 300.

thats an apples to oranges comparision. the ford v-10 is the answer to the gm 6.0l. im not sure but what are the specs for each engine? how much hp/tq for the v10 and for the 6.0?

 

i am a die hard ford fan and my friend is a die hard chevy fan, i told him about the v10 having 310 horse and 425 torque to compare with his 6.0 chevy. he told me that chevy has an 8.1 big block in the new chevy trucks that has 340 horses and 455 torque he said compare the v10 to the 8.1 but im still wanting to buy a new f150 i heard that they are being redesigned to 2003 and ive heard upgrading the 5.4 to 300 horses and ive heard 335 horses, and i was wondering if anyone else has heard this and if so i would wait until the 2003 came out. ty
