Unhappy 93 Lightning cam trouble.

Hey guys,
the cam in my Lightning is going out.
I was going to order the Crane cam & lifters
set for $165, but after visiting a Lightning site
of a guy with a 94, he said performance dropped off
and he would not recommend the Crane.

Any suggestions, as the truck needs fixing ASAP.

thanks

Cool

HI!... COBRAKID : If I were you, I would get yourself DYNO2000 computer program. I have been using MR.GASKET software for a long time now and it has helped me a lot to figure out what camshaft profiles to use. This is basically all that I use it for when building my race engines. The camshaft everyone told me to run in my 408 stroker only yeilded 512H.P. I used DESKTOP DYNO for about a month and found the perfect cam for my set-up. I bought it, installed it, and re-dynoed. I made 623H.P. That's a huge increase for just a cam change! It just proves that some engine builders know squat about cams!

Is the cam going flat?

If you want longer life and some more HP, get a roller cam. Granted it takes a bit more parts than just the cam to convert over, but the benefits are worth it. Crane cams should have a cam and conversion kit for the 93-95Ls.
