Thumbs down

Restores your faith in ford mechanics don't it? Or did you have it in the 1st place.
My encounters tell me they are clueless.

Call different dealers and see keep track of the different answers. Don't tell them what the last guy said and see what type of fix is presented.

Cool

Did they scan the system for codes? I'm sure you weren't there, but do you have a bud with a code scanner. Might be a good place to start.

(There's no point to an answer if there's no question.)

Exclamation

I have read all through the post Y2K describes, even moved the wires, reset the computer, the whole nine yards and mine still misses the way official's does. I thought this board was to try to help each other out no admonish.....yes/no?

Offical22yrs, it would help if you could describe just when the engine misses. Does it miss only at idle? When accelerating? At highway speeds?

The might have to "neutralize" the engine. I think that's what it's called. That's where they follow a TSB (I believe) that has procedures to reset the engine mounts. That has cured some members' "miss."

My dear Y2K,

You have a valid point. The caveat (one of many)is that if we "admonish" all new members as a rule--which it appears you are quite good at--then what is the motivation for ANY new members to post their questions or answers for that matter. The way I see it, the "new members" are just that...new. I think that if a little slack is given to these members until they can familiarize themselves with the sight, EVEN YOU might find their input valuable. I notice that you have made many posts during your membership, I wonder what percentage were actually helpful to someone and not just arrogant attacks on new members. Do us all a favor, practice the "golden Rule"....(can't we all just get along?)

I think Max was referring to 2."Hard to deal with". Now let's recapitulate, yes 1st time users should read some of the posts to get a feel for the board (I think it is even in the board rules) and learn how to search but to admonish is a little strong. Maybe "friendly advice" would be a kinder and gentler word? Regardless, as a fairly new member I can sympathize with official22yrs, it was a while before I learned all the tricks of the board and there is probably a few I still don't know. Anyway, welcome to the board official22yrs. Friendly advice for all new users, learn how to use the search option and describe your problems in detail.

Y2K-Relax, man, we're here to help each other-not give our fellow F150 owners a bunch of crap.

Now, onto the problem. A code read sounds like the ideal diagnostic. I had a similar prob. Twas the O2 sensor. Let the computer first do your diagnosis, then work from that point on.

Good luck!

Y2K 7700 4x4- I have been very patient and polite to all the F-150 online users including you. I was only joking to lighten the mood. I am sorry if I offended you. I am not sure of your educational history, but I can assure you that my word usage was correct. I don't have a "word book" LOL. I, like you, have made a living at repairing automobiles. I have been working on cars for over 30 years; I have passed many classes on automotive technology just fine; I've had many satisfied customers including the Army. I doubt that you've forgotten more than I ever knew or that you would be successful at bending my nose out of place. I agree with D.Kolb that many of your posts are lacking sustenance (run and get out your "word book", but this time realize that a word can have several meanings and that not all resource materials provide them all or the same). You are not the boss of the board, and certainly not me.
