Question Granatelli MAF Sensor

Can you use the Granatelli MAF Sensor with the Airaid FIPK? Do they work together or will it not bolt on properly? Thanks for any help.

The granetelli is a direct replacement for the factory MAF & will bolt right up. I have a granetelli & it made no difference in performance with a modified stock intake. if I had it to do over, I would have spent the money on something else.

Granatelli products. Good products, but they are made by someone else and you are paying the extra money for the granatelli name. The MAFs are made by Pro-flow Technologies, ie. Pro-M. You can get the 75mm bullets for $140-170. That is about $100 less than the granatelli. For that price difference step up into like the 77 or 80+ proM. If the rest of the truck is stock, expect about 5hp gain. Nothing you will feel. If you add a better intake, TB, exhaust you can get up to 15hp with them.

Question

Hey Matt,

WHere can I get the Pro-M for a cheaper $? I've been looking around and have found them to be priced around the same? Also, due to my SC, I was advised to make sure to get the MAF w/ Optimzer, to be able to adjust my rich/lean. Thanks!

I've already added an Airaid, and I've got true dual exhaust flowmasters, I'm checking on the BBK/Edelbrock throttle body today, to see what kind of price I can get from a friend, so hopefully that will help too. So is the MAF sensor worth it? And where can I find the Pro-M and read about it? Thanks for your help.

For the Pro-Ms, check their website. http://www.pro-m77.com

They make a pro-M77 specifically calibrated for supercharged engines. Here is a link to the 4.6/5.4 units:
http://www.pro-m77.com/fseries.htm

Where to get them. I got my last one from a GP on my mustang. $140 for it. Check with Houston Performance, see what their prices are.
http://www.houstonperformance.com/fuel.htm

You might also want to get a Mustang 5.0 mag and flip through the ads. Try like Excessive Motorsports and there are some others there. Any of the shops with larger ads will usually carry the items. I have not shopped for one in a while, so I appologize for not knowing exactly where the best price is.

Granatelli is Pro-M. We never made any secret about that

Redlariet - If you're not happy with the performance send it in and we will look at it. we want everyone happy

Dragonboy - meter shown is a Pro-M 77. Great part but this is not the best one for the 4.6/5.4 truck. We have seen more power with the Pro-M 80mm Plastic race meter and even the 80mm replacement housings

For the record we just tested a new 5.4 Navagater and made 23hp and 20ft/lbs of torque

Matt90GT - As stated Pro-M is Granatelli. We are one in the same - However we do not sell the same par for part. Granatelli handles all GM and Pro-M handles mostly all Ford. Granatelli handles most Ford SUV and Truck parts. As for a bullet - Bullets are for Mustangs and that would be Pro-flow. In the event that we are parts that share the same part number, the prices are the same.

Way2Big - Just Call Mark at Pro-M 248-399-9223 and he will refer you to dealer in your area with great pricing

Powerandsound - the MAF will make alot more power per $$$ than the Airraid and the t-body is where near the restriction that the MAF is. - The MAF will absolutely make a noticeable power increase

Granatelli, isn't the 5.4 Nav a 4v engine, why don't you have dyno numbers for the standard 5.4/4.6 engines. Not much gain in HP I bet is the reason why !

I agree with BigRed2.

If a manufacturer is so confident in their product, then they shouldn't be afraid to show all the numbers for all of our trucks.

ex: engine size/hp gain

Granetelli-- How about it? Show us the HP gains to a stock 2 valve 4.6L F150. Show us the HP gains to a stock 5.4L F150. Show us the HP gains to a stock 4.2L. I'm sure you'd have alot more sales if you could show all the benefit of getting you MAF sensor.

Currently:
1999 Black F150, 4.6L 5spd manual, reg. cab, long bed, 3.55, 60/40 split bench cloth seats, black vinyl floor, K&N air filter with partial open box mod., Home Made Cold Air Intake, 10 disc sony cd changer, Wet Okole seat covers, Superchip, 285/60/16 tires, Seat belt cushions, modified the silencer (by removing it, duct-tapped the hole from the outside, and put it back in.)

Future:
4.10 gear, auburn dif, 3" Ultra-flow exhaust, and maybe NOS, maybe supercharger.

Question

I would like to see one manufacturer make a unit that provides the best combination of power for the money that includes combined flow of the MAF, throttle body, air filter housing, & elbow. I have e-mailed every mfgr of each of these items (including Granatelli & Pro-flow) asking these questions. If some of these parts are not worth the money or they are, why cant someone dyno and combine a kit or even suggest a combination since that's what everyone wants. I've got no good advice on this combination from these mfgrs in 3 months of research and in-depth informed e-mail questions. We want results for the different years & engines like Dissonance said. It's not like these companies aren't getting rich off us. If one company cant make this, we still want to know the best combination.

Granatelli,
the "performance" MAF I ordered from macromotive (GMS-75974619-oc) looks & feels just like oem. It is aluminum & the bore is identical or very close oem. Did I get ripped or did I get the wrong thing? If you want it sent back--where to? Thanks for the help.
