Cool 10 dollar mod that works !!!!!!!!!!!

I always heard that cooler air (into the intake) makes for better performance. My truck (V6 1997) has the stock setup but with a K&N filter. I checked the air tube (name?) when my truck is at operating temp. and wow that gets real hot! So I'm sure the air in that tube must get just as hot.

To correct this problem I bought some insulation material and some aluminum tape, I wrapped the tube with the insulation (1/4" thick) and then covered it with the tape. Since my truck will suck in its air from the "cooler" fender wall, the air should be cooler than before with the insulation.

You know when your truck has more GO or PEP in the morning when it is still cold? Well mine feels like that at normal operation temps! I still want to insulate the airbox, add the cone to my K&N and try and see if I can get cooler air into the fender...

Let me know what you think, it is ugly but it works and I think it get save a little fuel (will know shortly)...
