Rad2, (and others)

I had the same problem w/my '97 and a friend of mine fixed it for me... he just made a few adjustments under the hood. He adjusted something to do with the idle, but he said you have to be careful how you mess with the idle on all these fuel injected and nearly "computer controlled" vehicles But, PROBLEM SOLVED. I will see if he minds me posting his E-MAIL so he can describe what you can do or instruct the dealer to do.

1997 F-150 Lariat X-Cab 4x4 w/95,000 miles, 4.6L, AT, Tow pack., 4x4 pack, K&N filter, FORD liner.

Future Mods:
Superchip, Flowmaster or Vortex Muffler, Mud terrains, and a few others...

Thanks for the latest info guys. I'm going to ask about the modulator Coolsville, sounds like a plausible approach. To answer the question about the time when it is worst, mine is worst when its hot, the weather that is. When I am slowing down suddenly, it seems also to be worse. Wish me luck.

Took my truck into Ford Monday. They told me that there weren't any codes on my computer for the idle problem. I mentioned this massage about the problem and the IAC modulator and about all the problems that I had with my other truck. I told him I did not want to end up with the same thing with this truck. He said they were going to take a second look at it and se what they could come up with. I'm crossing my fingers.

Sorry it took me so long to reply RAD2. With M. Boards being down and all.... ANYWAY, talked with my friend and said it would be O.K. to post E-mail address-- it is bdaddy64@hotmail.com-- just tell him 'bout your problem and that Patrick referred you to him. Best of Luck!!!
