Bid Blue has a cold....
Aargh,
Had to take my truck in to the dealer. Started 'er up this AM and she was miss'in and running rough. The damn "service engine soon" light came on, thought that I stopped that after repairing the cracked filler neck of my gas tank (see an earlier post) and resetting the computer. Must be something more intense going on under the hood. Maybe emissions related. Darn if I know, and now the service department is telling me that they won't be able to get to it until next Thursday... cause of the 4th of July weekend conming up. Oh great "Aarghs" of despair now !!! Somebody help me !! There goes my 4th of July fishing trip on the Delaware coast....
I did yank out the Superchip, just in case the Ford warranty ****'s decided to condemn it due to aftermarket mod's (I know about the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act), but hey, why risk an altercation with the service writer?
What am I going to do with a "loaner" Ford Escort? Can't pull through the dunes with it. Certaily can't trap my surf rods on the front of it. Looks like a delayed fishing trip.
Well friends, thanks for reading this, and helping me absorb my loneliness and pain... I'll keep you all posted as to what is ailing my beast...
(BTW, the title to this post is "Big Blue has a cold")
-kindest regards

wjt, I feel your pain. I lent my truck to my parents, and am driving their 95 escort for 2 weeks. Man does the thing ever lose power when you turn the A/C on. How pathetic. I can't wait to get my V8 back!!
p.s. I hope things turn out well with the dealer.

Just got my truck back from the dealer. They replaced a coil and a plug that apparently went bad. Thank god that they didn't reflash my computer again... Reinstalled my superchip, and ol'e Blue is running like a raped ape again. BTW, I just bought a boat (22.5' Key West 2220 WA) and am looking forward to dragging it to the bay this weekend.....
