governed 4.6

just wanted to flatline my truck one day on the strip and find out that I can,t get it up above 96 mph.Is there a problem or is the engine governed? Does anyone else have the same problem?

Yes, there is a top speed limiter. I don't know what your truck type is, but my top speed limiter was 98 mph. My factory tires aren't rated much above this either. There were many reasons why I added a superchip, and one was to remove the top speed limiter completely. As soon as the first tires wear out, I'm going to get higher top speed rated tires.

I only had mine as fast as 95 so far I have no idea what my speed limiter is set at if it wasn't for the high price of gas I to would have a super chip to remove it just to go 100 plus every now and then.
