Question fuel system problems

My 87 F150 has an sudden rise in rpm between shifting (4spd). When I depress the clutch and remove my foot from the pedal, I experience a quick sudden rise in rpm as if I had hit the gas pedal, anyone have any clues?

Taptones,

Does it idle correctly? Check the throttle linkage for binding. Throttle position sensor could have a bad spot.

Thanks, my truck idles fine when warmed up but when I firt start it, it dies then upon restart it will idle and then suddenly jump to a high idle for about 2 to 3 min. and then back down to normal. You may have hit the nail on the head! Thanks again!
