Question 2000 & MAF Sensors

My truck has exhibited recently (as posted in the computer Chips forum) a hesitation at moderate to full throttle from a dead stop.
I'm told to check out the MAF sensor which I did.

The first thing I did was to read codes from the computer, which there were none. (I've got the Actron OBD-II scanner). The next thing I did at the suggestion of a friend was to disconnect the MAF sensor and take the truck for a drive around the block and see how it runs.

The hesitation was reduced (as was the engine power) but no codes, hard or soft were thrown. Now I'm leaning to a possible PCM problem instead of MAF. I've got a dealer appointment in a week, but in the meantime I'd like to keep doing some basic troubleshooting.

Any help would be appriciated.

Cool

Have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor to make sure it doesn't have FIPK filter oil on it. It can be cleaned with Windex and pipe cleaners. Are the any air leaks between the MAF mounting flanges. Just an idea.
