Does anyone have the scoop on the proposed v6 diesel for 2003? Ford is expected to offer it for 1/2 tons.

 

Judging by the overwhelming response to my posting. I guess NO ONE knows

A thread in the Diesel link points a good article. I understand that they are supposed to be available for the 2003 year.

 

I AM NOW OFFICIALLY DROOLING...WHO WASTHE PROPOSED MANUFACTURER OF SAID DIESEL ENGINE? IF IT IS A MINI POWERSTROKE i WILL HAVE TO GET A SECOND JOB-BETTER YET JUST MOVE INTO THE NEW TRUCK haha

 

What I've seen is that it's going to be available in the Expedition AND the f150. It's HP and TQ are simalar to the current 5.4 but of course at the "stump pulling" RPM's as you'd expectr a diesel to be.

They're having an issue with a vibration in it they are trying to work out. Supposedly the new 6.0 PS isn't having any issues and will be out to replace the current PS soon.

Est. HP: 230

Est. Trq.: 400

245 HP
400 Pounds Torque.


Who knows what it will actually be when it comes out.
