The Kenne Bell Supercharger (at least the one I have) DOES have a by-pass function. While not requiring or producing boost specifically durring decelleration the by-pass feeds the intake with non-compressed (cooler) air. The KB does not have an intercooler (again, my model at 7psi) and, I have only had ping on one occation. That was due either to bad gas or the computer finding the right timing point because, the ping has not returned.

I have found my KB supercharger to need minimal care and feeding. Just changed the oil in the gearbox yesterday. The old oil appeared as clean as the new oil.

There you have my 2 cents (again)

Thumbs up

FORDMAN asks,
<<What oil did you use in the supercharger?>>

KB specifies 5W-50 Synthetic so, that's what I went with.

Hi Flyin Expi,

You wrote that you learned that the Ford factory exhaust is tuned so well that the only improvement you get from aftermarket exhaust is sound. Where did you learn this? I installed a Flowmaster dual out cat-back on my truck and didn't notice any performance improvement, and certainly did not notice any MPG gains. I am actually considering going back to my stock exhaust setup. Where can I find more information about the positive attributes of my stock exhaust system?

Thanks,

Dirk
