When (if) you ever get it back, take it to another dealership and have them check out the work (clips, abrasion, missing fasteners, hammer and pipe-wrench marks, etc).

Good luck.

Cool

Well, sorry to hear you had trouble. There is no excuse for leaving all the stuff in the bed of the truck. They probably just ground the rust off the flywheel with roloc discs. After rusting and grinding the rust off, your flywheel may not be even now. We run into that problem with Taurus rotors. When they sit on the lot for a while, they rust up pretty good. You take them out for a drive and burn the rust off and now you have a warped rotor. I can't tell you how many Taurus rotors I have cut. My guess is something similar happened to your flywheel. Glad to hear you got a new alternator though. Your new parts have on them a 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty. And I don't believe the gaskets are paper. I believe they are plastic with rubber seals, which are reusable, but I'm not too sure on that. Also, a lot of times, warranty companies will only pay for certain things. Some won't even pay for fluids!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best bet is always to go with an extended warranty from the vehicle manufacturer. I have the Ford ESP. It gets fixed just as if it was still under 3/36. What you wind up with sometimes with an aftermarket warranty is a half a$$ repair.
