change rear drum to disk ?
Easiest thing to try and do, if it don't open up another can or worms, would be to get a rear-end from a bone-yard. I have the 9.75 3.55 LS rear end in my '99 F-150 4x4. The '99 and later 4x4's came with rear-disks on them. If you can find a Sterling 9.75 rear end from a '99 4x4 you may be all set or close to being all set. Your truck probably has the 8.8" rear end. Going with the 9.75 3.55 rear end could potentiall be a nice upgrade as well.
I don't recall seeing specific conversion kits but there may be one out there somplace.

if you stay with the same type of rear end (8.8 or 9.75) and do not change to the other, you said you have a 99 with drums, i didn't think they had drums in the 99, are you sure it is not a 98?
anyway, basicly you need a disc brake housing, all the brake parts, rotors, backing plates with e-brake shoes, calipers, brake hoses, and e-brake cables, it will bolt right in. good luck

get the master cylinder also
But you need cables, brake lines, rotors, calipers, brackets, bolts, rear end fluid, LS additive, ebrake shoes and hardware. Once you have all that, you can swap into.
Personally the 9.75 is a waste of ground clearance and not needed. The 8.8 is plenty strong.

I agree with matt,only it's not the ground clearance that i don't like about the 9.75 it's the fact that i can't find gears to fit it,everybody has em for an 8.8.i have drum rears on my 76 and just found that out the other day when i decided to fix the leak in the rear brakes.oh well,it'll have a whole new power train in it soon anyway,i'm gettin a 514 crate from ford racing for it,650 hp at the fly wheel!

I've got a '99 xlt 4x4 5.4 and it has rear disks. I've also got 4 wheel anti-lock. I'm not sure which trim package had the 4 wheel antilock but that was probably the threshold for getting disks. I do have a '99 and I do have rear disks though so not all '99s had drums...
