Unhappy New K&N Scare

There is a posting today under "DOES MY WARRANTY COVER IT" which claims there is a FoMoCo TSA(advisory)telling dealers not to honor warranty work for any MAFS problems if the vehicle is equiped with a K&N filter. Posting says Ford has had many MAFS problems due to K&N oil and Cleaner. Has anyone out there heard anything about this? Also, is it true that Ford is equiping 2000 modle SVO vehicles with K&N filters(blue oil) and selling same at SVO dealerships?

Yes SVO does now sell the blue flavor K&N filters. My former dealer denied me warranty work due to having a K&N filter installed. The service engine light was on due to a bad Ho2 sensor, they saw the K&N filter sticker on the air box pulled the truck out of the service bay and charged my $65.00. No more business from me those #@$%^&&*%@@#$.

Exclamation

I wouldn't get too excited about that post in the other section..the members name is GORP and has not been able to produce anything credible (yet).

MANY members have been using the K&N filters for years without any problems. I have just under a full year myself..and not a single problem.

Sounds like someone trying to stir up some excitement.
