Question Change to synthetic??

Well, i just bought this truck and since the previous owner had taken care of it well but with regular oil changes at some oil place, i didnt know if it had any synthetic at all. I flushed out the engine with some flush, put some synthetic blend in, and a purolator filter. Now i'm gonna run some injector cleaners through at the end of 1500 miles and then flush it once more and change it to synthetic 5w-30. I've got 60 k on the odo. Question is, is this a good plan or am i missing something here??

Sounds good. You could just run synthetic right off. I did that and changed it at about 2000 miles then next at about 3000 just to get it cleaned out. I'm now going about 4000-5000. I'm still a little leery about extended drains. Plus I'm using Mobil 1 so 5000 is about as far as I'd want to go.

Good plan---I did the same thing on my used 97 xlt 4.6--125,000 miles--goin' strong. I use Royal Purple synthetic in my L and Mobil 1 in my xlt and my wife's 97 Gran Prix.

Don't use flush ! You're just asking for trouble...
Just change the oil to a synthetic and use a new filter...
