Question K&N Question

Just bought a used 2000 model F-50 XL regular cab 4x2, 4.2V6. Has 3000 miles on it. I love it. I've been reading about these K&N air filters... should I get one of these? Are they worth the 44 bucks?

Yes they are. They pay for themselves. Increases Hp to 2-3 @ the flywheel. You won't actually feel it, but it's there. Plus, it has a million mile warranty. And At 50,000 miles or so, you just clean it, re-oil it, and it's as good a new.

Thumbs up

I agree...the K&N filter is worth the money. I have not had a single problem with mine. Regular paper filters will not go 50,000 miles..or the claimed 1,000,000 miles of the K&N..so the K&N will eventually pay for itself.

Cool

Just a note about "not actually feeling a difference with a K&N". You can really feel it when doing accelerations on the highway.
I noticed that stock, mine took forever to get going over 70mph when passing on the highway. After installing K&N's filter charger kit it made a very big difference immediately. It pulls easily up to 90mph now that it can breath easily.
The higher the rpm's the more air needed. Thats where K&N's filter stands out.
