Post Mobil1

Just picked up some Mobil1 at Wal Mart. I gotta great price. They were selling 5 quart bottles for $15. Bought 5 of 'em. i will change to Mobil1 at 5000 miles and go to the Ford oil filter. I have been using Pennzoil Petro based for the last 10 years with fram filters- no problems. Actually I had 135,000 miles on a oldmobile 4 banger with no problems. I am changing because I will be towing a 5000lb trailer and am not happy with the fuel mileage. I am hoping it helps the milage.

The sticke said mileage would range from 14-17. i just started getting 14 when I put on a toneau cover. Don't know if that is the reason for the improvement.

Lotsa,
I just thought I'd share my Mobil1 experiences. I switched over to Mobil1 5W30 last year, and didn't see any significant increase in fuel economy.
What other mods have you done to your truck? I've added the K&N filter and Flowmaster muffler. I believe things like that will give you more MPG than the oil, at least they did for me!
p.s. I don't get the rated fuel economy very often.

Lotsa, Thanks for the post. I've been going in Wallys's every 2-4 days, for over a month, looking for it. Got 5, myself, today. Had to get it from the back room, as it's not featured in the Decatur, TX store yet. Mgr. stated not in great supply this time, other stores already asking them to share. If anyone wants it, you may want to get it, in case the small supply is true.
