Smile Yep...

Did it with only 60 miles, so I wouldn't notice any difference. TOok a dremmel, screwdriver, and went to work.

I don't have any experience to base this on so it is jut my opinion. I think opening up the elbow will hurt performance more than help. Yes, it is bigger than CAN flow more are but unless you actually push more air into the elbow you won't get any benefit. Air velocity would probably slow down by cutting the center ouf of the elbow. My example is to look at a stream, the water flows faster at a narrower opening than it does in the wider parts. I have a little experience with race cars and usually look at velocity, (getting the air fuel into the engine faster) than just raw flow #s. If you want to try it, buy an elbow from a junk yard and play around with it, then you'll always have the stock one. I did the airbox mod only 99 F-150 but I only exposed the air filter to get alittle more air and left it connected to the fender. Trying to get the best of both worlds I guess. Good Luck.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the reply, Yeah if I was going to mess with the elbow it would not be the stock one, cause with my luck I 'd goof on something...lol...I'll either go to the junk yard or buy a new one, I get all my ford parts at cost...it's a big help...
