Gas mileage on my 2000 4.2L
Have I somehow hyperlinked over to the Shovy owners board? Sure sounds like it.

Add-ons: Older Windstar driver's side wiper blade (with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains), back-up beeper, "f150online.com" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.
My third F-series: '73 F-100, '98 F-150 and '00 F-150. Great trucks!

I have averaged 18-19 MPG in my truck. Have only about a 1000 miles so far, hopefully it will get a little better with time.....

As far as gas mileage goes I am getting 19.7 mpg. with 90 percent highway and 10 percent stop and go on a brand new engine with only a few hundred miles on it.I'll continue checking for the next couple of tankfulls and see if it changes.(The new engine is a result of the recall).
At 32.5K miles, my 99 F-150 4.2l 4x2 SC gets about 15-16 mpg 60% hwy and 21-22 mpg 90% hwy. My driving is lightfooted, but my loads are heavy with GVW touching 6500 lbs (6000 lbs GVWR). With about <6500 lbs GVW on a trip to LA, I have achieved 18-19 mpg's staying at 65 mph at HWY 5 (with big-rigs passing me).

Just checked my gas mileage yesterday. Burned an entire tank on city driving. Slightly over 391 miles, required 24 gallons to fill. Came out to 16.29 miles/gallon.
