First, disconnect the battery so you don't accidentally get a "short" (and lots of sparks). If you must raise the truck, be sure to do so carefully. Remember- it's YOU who will get crushed!
There should only be 3 bolts that hold the starter on the bellhousing. Depending on your ignition system, there may be 1 or 2 electrical wires that you have to disconnect.
I hate saying this, but: installation is the reverse of removal. Don't fret too much. It's really one of the easiest things to do on a Ford.
When you put the new one in, make sure that it sits flush with the mounting surface- you may have to "wiggle" it around to get the teeth to line up with the flywheel.
